Overcome Injury with Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy & More
The USC Arcadia Hospital Rehabilitation Department was recently honored for being among the Top 3% of acute rehabilitation centers in the nation by Uniform Data System (UDS) for Medical Rehabilitation. UDS recognized our program for providing “outstanding care to highly acute patients” while achieving “the highest functional improvement gains.”
In addition, the hospital’s Acute Rehabilitation team received a prestigious three-year CARF Accreditation in March 2023, which recognizes our staff for providing excellent care and achieving positive patient outcomes. The Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, or CARF, is an independent, nonprofit accreditor of health and human services including rehabilitation.
Acute rehabilitation care at USC Arcadia Hospital offers a unique opportunity for patients to optimize their functionality through an intensive interdisciplinary therapeutic program under the oversight of Board Certified Rehabilitation Physician Raymond Gritton, MD, who serves as Medical Director for the program.
The USC Arcadia Hospital Rehabilitation Department is a 30-bed inpatient unit providing clinical services to patients who have lost a level of their independence from neurological and orthopedic conditions, along with severe debilitation from medical illness.
The hospital unit includes:
- Spacious patient rooms, including private rooms
- State-of-the-art large rehabilitation gym
- Large patient dining room
- Training kitchen and laundry room for home simulation training
- Rehabilitation app for patient families to follow real-time progress of their loved ones
The interdisciplinary team members include the Rehabilitation Physician, Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Speech Therapist, Rehabilitation Nurses, Psychologist, Social Worker, Rehabilitation Liaison, Clinical Care Coordinator, and the Program Director. All care is integrated among disciplines along with carryover training from shift to shift. This optimizes the patient’s rehabilitation opportunity as “rehab” is taking place throughout the day and evening seven days a week. Family and caregivers are involved early in the process to assure a confident and safe transition back home.
The rehabilitation team offers exemplary services to its patients. It consistently scores among the nation’s top programs in rehabilitation core measures. These include functional gains, return home, and patient satisfaction.
