When Wounds Don’t Heal
Chronic wounds are a reality for nearly five million Americans, with about 500,000 new cases diagnosed annually. The 14 million individuals with diabetes nationwide are particularly vulnerable to chronic wounds and are 12 times more likely to undergo limb amputation due to unhealed wounds. Not only are chronic wounds bothersome and often painful, but each passing day increases the likelihood of infection. It is a condition that should not be ignored.
Fortunately for patients in the San Gabriel Valley, there is an experienced resource conveniently located close by—the Wound Healing Center at USC Arcadia Hospital. If you have wounds that need medical attention, you can get the help you need right here in your neighborhood.
