Becker's Honors Hospital President & CEO Ike Mmeje as a "Rising Star" in Healthcare
Becker’s Hospital Review recently honored USC Arcadia Hospital President & CEO Ike Mmeje in their 2023 edition of “Rising stars: healthcare leaders under 40” list.
According to Becker’s, the list honors leaders who are 40 years old or younger for their commitment to optimizing healthcare. These 67 up-and-coming leaders are quickly rising through the ranks at their organizations, focusing on development, innovation, and improved outcomes. They are part of the next generation of healthcare leaders, and they are determined to make their mark on the healthcare industry. They are key players who are shaping the future of healthcare proactively, rather than simply reacting to the ever-changing industry.
Ike joined Keck Medicine of USC and USC Arcadia Hospital in March 2023. In his role as president and CEO, Mmeje furthers Keck Medicine’s mission to expand access to specialized health care and research to the San Gabriel Valley and beyond. He oversees all management and operations of the hospital, including corporate compliance, strategic plan implementation, board development and fundraising.
Prior to joining Keck Medicine, Mmeje served as chief operating officer (COO) of both MemorialCare Long Beach Medical Center and Miller Children’s & Women’s Hospital Long Beach. Previously, he held CEO and COO roles with Tenet Healthcare.
Mmeje is active on a number of boards, committees and organizations, including the American College of Healthcare Executives and the National Association of Health Services Executives, and is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
He earned his Bachelor of Arts in public health and social welfare from the University of California, Berkeley and a Master of Health Services Administration from the University of Michigan.

USC Arcadia Hospital was originally founded as Methodist Hospital of Southern California and affiliated with Keck Medicine of USC in 2022.
