2019 Ahmad Scholarship Recipients

Congratulations to the Bashir Ahmad Scholarship recipients. Every year, USC Arcadia Hospital Medical Staff offers the Bashir Ahmad Scholarship to qualified employees.

The requirements are:

1. Current enrollment in an educational program that will benefit USC Arcadia Hospital
2. At least one year of employment at USC Arcadia Hospital
3. A written recommendation from the director

About the Bashir Ahmad Scholarship

The late nephrologist Bashir Ahmad, MD, was a well-liked and respected member of the USC Arcadia Hospital Medical Staff for more than 30 years. During his career, Dr. Ahmad served as hospital Chief of Staff as well as on the hospital Board of Directors.

Dr. Ahmad was always an advocate of continuing education, so after his death in 2013 the medical staff and his family joined forces to honor the physician by creating the Bashir Ahmad Scholarship to fund the educational needs of hospital staff. This year more than 20 staff members were presented with scholarships of up to $1,000. Congratulations!
