Methodist Hospital's 29th Annual Crystal Ball Gala Raises $610,000 for Stroke and Endovascular Services
The USC Arcadia Hospital Foundation raised $610,000 for stroke care, endovascular services and interventional radiology during the 29th Annual Crystal Ball celebration on Oct. 6 at the Pasadena Convention Center. More than 650 guests attended the black tie event, which featured legendary rockers Foreigner.
This year’s festivities honored Shone and Sherry Wang of Arcadia for their commitment and dedication to USC Arcadia Hospital of Southern California and the community at large. Foundation supporters and event co-chairs Susan Woo and Patricia Nijjar guided the planning and coordination of the large-scale fund-raising event.
Over the years, Crystal Ball has evolved into an annual fundraising gala that has become the top social event of the year in the San Gabriel Valley. Crystal Ball has generated more than $9.1 million to support such hospital programs as the Rehabilitation Unit, Cardiac, Stroke, Emergency Services, Women’s Services, and the Next Generation of Care Campus Transformation.
“Crystal Ball brings people together in a different way to celebrate the community that is the beating heart of the USC Arcadia Hospital,” says Ms. Nijjar. “The event is a joyful occasion and reminds everyone of the significant work that the hospital does, while raising funds for the community it supports.”
The English/American rock band Foreigner, which has sold more than 75 million albums during the past four decades, treated the Crystal Ball revelers to a fun-filled evening by playing some of their most enduring anthems including “Juke Box Hero,” “Cold As Ice,” “Hot Blooded,” “Waiting For A Girl Like You,” “Feels Like The First Time,” and the worldwide #1 hit, “I Want To Know What Love Is.”
