CT Scanner for our Hollfelder Emergency Department
We performed 27,000 CT scans in 2019, the vast majority for emergency cases.
CT scans are especially useful for showing bleeding and internal injuries
such as those caused by a car accident and can help locate blood clots,
excess fluid, or infection. Our Hollfelder Emergency Department is also
a critical first stop for stroke patients. Diagnosis and treatment are
incredibly time sensitive. A new CT scanner located in our Emergency Department
can save up to 30 minutes when diagnosing patients, allowing for faster
life-saving treatment.

A second Bi Plane Imaging System for Heart and Stroke Care As a certified Comprehensive Stroke Center, and STEMI (heart attack) receiving center, we have experienced significant growth in the number of patients brought to our Hollfelder Emergency Care Center over the past few years. STEMI stands for ST Elevation Mycardial Infarction – the most severe type of heart attack. Every minute of delay in treatment increases mortality. To meet the growing needs of our community, we need a second Bi-plane imaging system, a key piece of equipment that enables our physicians to perform highly complex procedures, including clot extraction, coiling of aneurysms and will facilitate structural heart procedures typically performed in an Operating Room.
