During this virtual class, expectant parents will explore the “Understanding Breastfeeding” Student Handbook which will be mailed to you. A Lactation Specialist will provide you with information about the benefits of breastfeeding, hands on demonstration of techniques for positioning your infant, how-to ensure nutritive latch, healthy milk production, pumping success, storing of human milk, as well as prevention and relief of common problems and a Q&A session. Your support person is encouraged to join us. You will be asked to use a doll or rolled blanket as your “baby” while practicing hands on exercises as the instructor walks you through the skills.
Also, you will be provided with access to an informative mobile app that will keep important information at your fingertips before and during your breastfeeding journey.
You must register online to secure your spot in class. After which, we will email you an invitation to a Teams meeting for the class date and time.
